In a move that does not come as a big surprise, the New England Patriots have re-signed running back LeGarrette Blount, league sources told ESPN's Field Yates on Tuesday.
Blount, 29, was the Patriots' top power back in 2015. He finished with a team-high 703 yards on 165 carries with six touchdowns before sustaining a season-ending hip injury Dec. 13 in a game against the Houston Texans.
Blount's career has twice been revived in New England. In 2013, he was acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and after a solid season, he inked a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent in 2014.
