It's been a wild afternoon for the Patriots, who began to build their practice squad and lost several key players on the waiver wire.
Running back D.J. Foster and defensive end Geneo Grissom cleared waivers today and agreed to join the Patriots practice squad, according to sources. Linebacker Trevor Bates, wide receiver Cody Hollister and safeties David Jones and Damarius Travis will also join the Patriots practice squad, according to sources. Interior offensive linemen Ted Karras and James Ferentz were also present for today's practice, so deductive reasoning indicates they're on the taxi squad, too.
The Patriots have two openings on their 10-man practice squad, so this group will continue to grow.
