As it turns out, Malcolm Butler does have the Saints' eye after all.
The Saints plan to host Butler for a visit Thursday, according to a Herald source. As a restricted free agent, Butler can meet with teams until April 21 with the attempt to sign an offer sheet.
Butler was rumored to be a piece in the Brandin Cooks trade, but he was ultimately ineligible to be dealt because he hadn't signed his RFA tender (one-year, $3.9 million).
According to the Herald's Jeff Howe, several teams are interested in Butler's services. He'll be shopping around this week.
