The Patriots are expected to officially promote offensive lineman Chris Barker from the practice squad to the active roster today in anticipation of tomorrow's game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Barker has primarily worked at guard, but he expanded his repertoire to tackle over the summer and can provide necessary versatility with tackles Sebastian Vollmer (concussion) and Marcus Cannon (toe) and right guard Tre’ Jackson (left knee) already ruled out.
Cameron Fleming, who was promoted from the practice squad Oct. 17, is the only true tackle expected to be active against the Giants. Bryan Stork played right tackle last week, and Shaq Mason, David Andrews, Josh Kline and Barker are the other healthy linemen on the roster.
