FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots informed wide receiver Leonard Hankerson that he will be waived today, a source confirms.
Hankerson had been claimed by the Patriots on Dec. 16 after the Atlanta Falcons waived him off injured reserve. Upon his arrival, he noted how quickly things can change in the NFL, then played 10 snaps in the Patriots' victory against Tennessee on Dec. 20 by initially serving as the No. 4 receiver and then bumping up to No. 3 when Danny Amendola was sidelined with a left knee injury.
