Fullback James Develin suffered a broken right tibia during the fourth-quarter of last night's 17-16 win over the Panthers, the Herald's Jeff Howe confirmed through a team source. Develin, who was carted off the field, did not suffer any ligament damage.
Develin had pulled in a 10-yard pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with 8:18 remaining when he suddenly went down in a heap. Trainers and medical personnel attended to him before the cart game out. Teammates came over, even Patriots coach Bill Belichick made his way over from the sideline to check on Develin. It was pretty obvious the injury was severe.
