It doesn't look like the Patriots will have to go hunting for another long snapper for the 2016 season.
Joe Cardona, who held down that position as a rookie last season, will not be withheld from those duties this year due to Naval obligations, according to Secretary of Navy Ray Mabus, who broke the news to the Dan Patrick Show this morning.
Mabus also told Patrick that fellow Navy graduate Keenan Reynolds will be able to play his rookie season for the Baltimore Ravens as a multi-purpose offensive weapon.
Like the Army and Air Force, the Navy requires graduates to serve in the military after they get their degree.
