The worst was feared when Stephon Gilmore went down with a non-contact injury that was described as a "knee injury" by the Patriots on Sunday. As it turns out, the Patriots Pro Bowl cornerback didn’t suffer a knee injury against the Miami Dolphins, but the news still isn’t good.
According to the NFL Network, Gilmore suffered a torn quad and will undergo surgery to repair the injury on Tuesday. The report goes on to say that the 30-year-old didn’t suffer any structural damage to his knee and “should” be available to participate in a “portion” of the 2021 offseason program.
