FOXBORO — Tom Brady knew he didn’t put the ball precisely where he wanted to.
Fortunately, the intended target was Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski fought off Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde, spun around and reached out with his right hand to corral a 17-yard touchdown pass to tie the score at 10 in the second quarter. The play was one of several key plays turned in by the tight end in helping the Patriots defeat the Bills, 37-16, yesterday at Gillette Stadium.
“It was a great catch,” Brady said. “I wanted to give him a chance against man coverage.
