Roger Goodell talked about Josh Gordon and the controversial NFC Championship non-call at his Super Bowl press conference

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gave his state of the league address Wednesday in Atlanta, after which he took questions from the media assembled for the Super Bowl.

Goodell was asked by the Globe about suspended Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon. The commissioner said he hasn’t spoken to Gordon since the latest suspension.

“He understands what he has to do, and this is well beyond football, this is his life.

“The focus is what can we do to help Josh get to the right place.’’

The controversial ending to the NFC Championship game, when officials failed to call pass interference and helmet-to-helmet contact on Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman as he flattened Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis on an incomplete pass with 1:45 left in the game, also came up.
