Rob Gronkowski returns to Cleveland, site of some early-career adversity

CLEVELAND -- Quick-hit thoughts and notes around the New England Patriots and the NFL:

1. Tight end Rob Gronkowski returns to play a game in Cleveland for just the second time in his NFL career, and the first was notable because it included some early adversity for him to overcome. Gronkowski called for a fair catch on a first-quarter kickoff return before backing away from the ball in a 34-14 loss on Nov. 7, 2010, with the Browns recovering and quickly turning it into a touchdown. He later lost a fumble in a game that got away from the Patriots quickly.
