Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has never met rookie quarterback Drake Maye, but he's seen enough football to know there's something special brewing with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft.
Despite having one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and lackluster receiving weapons, Maye still showed plenty of promise under center for the Patriots, finishing the year with 2,276 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The North Carolina product received plenty of praise from various coaches and players throughout the season.
“I think Drake Maye was phenomenal this year,” Gronkowski told RG’s Crissy Froyd.
