Rob Gronkowski leaves locker room without crutches as Pats might have caught a break

DENVER -- Tight end Rob Gronkowski walked out of the Sports Authority Field at Mile High tonight without crutches or barely even a limp after sustaining a right knee injury that yielded their worst fears during the Patriots' 30-24 overtime loss to the Broncos. Gronkowski leaped for a high incompletion from Tom Brady, and Darian Stewart collided with Gronk’s knee while they were both in the air.

Gronkowski was carted off and taken for immediate X-rays. He’ll have an MRI tomorrow, which is the standard operation procedure for such injuries, but there’s some optimism.

After the game, Gronkowski sat in a chair at his locker and crossed his right leg over his left to put on a sneaker.
