The Patriots’ decision to start Jacoby Brissett at quarterback over Drake Maye to open the season might have been controversial to some, but a few of the franchise’s icons support the move.
Rob Gronkowski became the latest former Patriots player to join that group. In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Scott Polacek, Gronkowski said that it’d be best for Maye to sit for a bit and learn from Brissett before taking over at some point during the season.
“I expect Drake Maye to play, I’m just not sure exactly when,” the former Patriots tight end said.
