Rob Gronkowski accepts community service award, thinks back to when he 'was on ESPN every weekend drunk'

Rob Gronkowski was awarded the Ron Burton Community service Award by the New England Patriots Tuesday night.

In accepting the award, the affable tight end acknowledged that, despite his current efforts in the community, his acceptance is a stark contrast to his younger days, where his reputation off the field centered around only drinking and partying.

"This is an honor to accept this award," Gronkowski said. "Who would (have) thought five years ago when I was on ESPN every weekend drunk, that I'd be accepting this award?"
