FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, said he has been engaged in negotiations with the team on an extension that could be nearing its end.
"Right now, I'm trying to get the deal done and get it locked in. We'll see where that goes. It's pretty close," Stevenson said Monday on the first day of the Patriots' mandatory minicamp.
Stevenson was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft and has opened the last two seasons as the team's top running back.
