The New England Patriots will trade quarterback Mac Jones, a former first-round pick, to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a late-round draft pick, according to multiple media reports Sunday.
The deal calls for Jones, who is from Jacksonville, to head to the Jaguars for a sixth-round pick in April's draft, according to an ESPN report. Trades are not official until the new league year starts Wednesday, and Jones would have to pass a physical.
Jones, 25, was taken with the 15th selection in the 2021 draft out of Alabama. The No. 1 pick in that draft, Trevor Lawrence, is the starter in Jacksonville.
