According to multiple reports, the University of Alabama is set to hire Patriots tight ends coach Brian Daboll as the program's offensive coordinator.
Daboll, who served as an offensive coaching assistant in 2013 before his current role over the last three seasons, was expected by some as a potential successor to current Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels if the latter took a head coaching job.
On Monday, reports surfaced that Daboll would interview for the position at Alabama, which opened after Steve Sarkisian left his brief stint under Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban to become the new offensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers.
