Those who have been waiting for next week's much-anticipated Tom Brady-Peyton Manning duel in Denver may be disappointed.
According to a CBS Sports report, Manning, who will not play today against the Bears, is likely to sit the Patriots game out as well as he continues to rest and rehab his injuries.
The report states that 25-year-old backup Brock Osweiler is expected to get at least two starts and that the coaching staff will not consider re-inserting Manning until he's able to practice regularly in the week leading up to the game. And should Osweiler prove effective in his opportunity to lead the team, he might even be able to hold on to the starting job.
