The New England Patriots are back on the market for a wide receiver. Former Colts great Reggie Wayne has asked for a release after two weeks with the team and is expected to retire.
Wayne played plenty during the final couple of preseason games, and he ever appeared to gain separation on his routes, but something about his performance led the veteran to contemplate calling it a career. The Patriots paid Wayne a $450,000 signing bonus and it's like the team will recoup some of the value if Wayne retires. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wayne is willing to return if the situation is right.
