Report: Patriots acquire LB Jon Bostic from Bears

The Bears are already in a sell-sell-sell mode, and the Patriots were ready to buy.

The Pats acquired linebacker Jon Bostic tonight in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, according to ESPN. Bostic was a second-round pick out of Florida in 2013, and the 50th overall selection was taken two spots ahead of Jamie Collins.

The Bears, who already traded defensive end Jared Allen to the Panthers today, are attempting to reshape their roster under first-year coach John Fox, and Bostic wasn't a fit in their 3-4 scheme. He is freakishly athletic, but he has also dealt with ankle and back injuries since the summer.
