The New England Patriots claimed former Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad quarterback Nathan Rourke off waivers on Monday, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero.
Rourke was released from Jacksonville's active roster Saturday to make room for Jamal Agnew to return from the injured reserve list. He was called up to the active roster as Trevor Lawrence dealt with a sprained ankle heading into the Week 14 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Rourke's signing with New England is untimely, as Lawrence is currently in concussion protocol and does not have a timetable to return.
