On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the L.A. Rams are planning to release Cooper Kupp after their attempt to trade the wide receiver. Such a move would allow potential suitors like the Patriots to pursue Kupp through money only, rather than via trade.
The Patriots were apparently not willing to give up draft selections in exchange for Kupp. New England does have enough salary cap space to attract the East Washington alum to join Drake Maye and the rest of the New England offense.
The almost 32-year old was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Rams, where he has played since.
