Rookie quarterback Drake Maye has hit some rough patches throughout training camp, but the New England Patriots aren't close to hitting the panic button.
As a matter of fact, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the team views Maye's early hiccups as mostly due to him taking snaps behind the second team's offensive line unit.
The Patriots have actually been impressed with Maye's ability to process what he sees on the field so quickly.
Breer wrote:
Drake Maye has had rough moments, to be sure, but New England Patriots people attribute that to him running with the second team, and how the team’s offensive line depth issue has really shown up with that group.
