Sometimes, especially when you consistently bet on a team you like and one that wins all the time, you have to take the bad with the good. It’s no consolation when you’re flat broke, but there are certain times when a non-cover is easier to take.
Last night was a perfect example. After more than seven months of Ted Wells, courtrooms and the ideal gas law, it was nice to actually view a football game that mattered, and there was more hype and anticipation than for any season opener I can remember. Roger Goodell shockingly chose not to show up and watch Tom Brady dismantle a young, inexperienced Steelers defense to the tune of 288 yards and four touchdown passes, three to Rob Gronkowski, for whom Pittsburgh had no answer.
