For several weeks, trying to predict the outcome in the NFC East has been the handicapping equivalent of “Mission Impossible.”
The three major contenders — Washington, Philadelphia and the New York Giants — all had chances to seize control of the division and failed miserably. Even the Dallas Cowboys, who lost seven straight while Tony Romo was recovering from a collarbone injury, were still alive for the title after a Nov. 22 victory in Miami.
The NFC Least, indeed.
But, mercifully, the Redskins can clinch the division crown by winning in Philadelphia tomorrow night. Unfortunately, given the chaotic nature of this playoff chase, such an easy resolution seems unlikely.
