FOXBORO — Brian Tyms isn’t the type to cut himself some slack if he’s not at his best.
The Patriots wide receiver has always been a perfectionist when it comes to his game, and he was far from perfect at yesterday’s mandatory minicamp on the fields behind Gillette Stadium.
On one 11-on-11 drill, he caught a pass from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo along the left sideline but after roughly a step, he fumbled the ball. He had to run a lap for that one.
Tyms didn’t exactly gobble up every pass thrown his way, either. Rookie cornerback Darryl Roberts broke up a pass intended for him later in the series.
