FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots defensive end Chris Long is preparing to play in the NFL postseason for the first time in his nine-year career, and in the process, he has put his own spin on a long-standing tradition.
"Look, I get it, there's a playoff beard thing. But I decided I wanted a mustache this week," Long said Wednesday morning with a touch of humor. "It might be there next week, it might not. I'm the captain of my destiny."
Long, 31, was having some fun with the topic as reporters assembled around his locker on the first official work day of the Patriots' playoff bye week for players.
