In one of the first major moves of the offseason, the New England Patriots released linebacker Kyle Van Noy on Monday.
The decision to cut Van Noy cleared roughly $4 million in salary cap space.
On Wednesday, Van Noy took to his social media accounts to voice his appreciation for New England, tweeting a farewell message and sharing a photo of his son with a second message on Instagram.
Teammates Devin McCourty and Davon Godchaux reacted to the news.
Back in 2016, Van Noy joined the Patriots for the first time following a trade with the Detroit Lions and helped the team reach three straight Super Bowls, winning two.
