The Patriots cut ties with Leonard Johnson today, releasing the defensive back who showed promise late in the season after being signed to the 53-man roster on Dec. 9 of last year.
The 5-foot-10, 202-pound Johnson made some headway toward the end of the regular season after the Pats grabbed him following his release from the Buccaneers' injured reserve. He played in four games and started three, finishing with seven tackles and three pass breakups. However, Johnson was a healthy scratch for the Pats' playoff games against the Chiefs and Broncos.
In addition to his football skills, Johnson stood out with his post-play celebrations and dance moves, which captivated teammates and fans alike.
