The Patriots usually hold their training camp in Foxboro. It has not always been like that.
20 miles south-west of Foxboro, Massachusetts lies Smithfield, Rhode Island. Just like Foxboro, Smithfield is a small New England town – and just like Foxboro, it has a close connection to the Patriots. After all, the town of Smithfield used to be the organization's "summer home": the Patriots held their annual training camp at nearby Bryant College (since 2004 known as Bryant University) from 1976 to 2002.
Before 1976, the Patriots' training camp locations – just like their home stadiums – were not set in stone.
