Pats' Ninkovich suffers torn triceps, source says

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots starting defensive end Rob Ninkovich, an ironman who has played in 125 straight games (including playoffs) since joining the team in 2009, tore his triceps in Tuesday's practice with the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

How long Ninkovich will be sidelined is unknown. If it is ultimately determined that Ninkovich could play through the injury, the question would be how much diminished strength affects his performance.

Ninkovich, 32, left Tuesday's full-pads practice with the Saints under his own power while shaking his head in frustration as he walked to the locker room.
