FOXBORO -- A warm reception for Roger Goodell at Gillette Stadium. Just what everyone expected, right?
The league commissioner was in attendance for Thursday night's preseason game, and in a photo released on Twitter by Brian McCarthy -- who works in public relations for the NFL -- Goodell stood smiling with three also grinning Pats fans.
The image comes as a stark contrast to what most people would expect from a fanbase which by and large loathes Goodell for the Deflategate penalties issued down by the league.
Goodell will be back in Foxboro for the Pats' regular season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
