The Patriots, shoring up their depth at running back given the injury to LeGarrette Blount, have added former Broncos back Montee Ball to the fold.
The 5-10, 215 Ball was a former teammate and roommate of Patriot James White at Wisconsin. He was a second-round pick of the Broncos, one selection ahead of Pats receiver Aaron Dobson.
While the Pats haven’t formally announced the signing, there is a locker and nameplate with his name in the Patriots locker room. Several reports have him on the practice squad, where he still has eligibility.
