According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the New England Patriots worked out LB Darnell Sankey and WR R.J. Shelton on Tuesday.
Sankey, 22, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Sacramento State. Unfortunately, Denver chose to waive him as they trimmed down to 75 players.
The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before cutting him loose in October of last year. He signed to the Chiefs practice squad but was released after a month with the team.
