A 53-man roster spot changed hands in Foxborough on Friday.
The New England Patriots have waived veteran running back and wide receiver Ty Montgomery after claiming linebacker Christian Elliss off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles in a deferred move.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss was first to report the corresponding cut.
Montgomery, 30, conceded a blocked punt in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s 21-18 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. It netted 11 yards off the hands of core defensive back Miles Killebrew as the short field gave way to a touchdown and two-point conversion.
