In Foxborough, a Wednesday arrival became a Thursday departure.
The New England Patriots waived defensive tackle Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi with the non-football illness designation, according to the transaction wire. The move leaves the organization with two openings on the active roster as final game of the regular season nears.
Ndubuisi, 24, had been signed off the practice squad of the Washington Commanders on New Year’s Day.
A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Ndubuisi entered the NFL as part of the International Player Pathway in 2022. Setting out as an offensive tackle with the Arizona Cardinals, he switched to the defensive side of the ball while with the Denver Broncos in 2023.
