The New England Patriots’ home opener will see a change at wide receiver.
Kayshon Boutte, who was active in Week 1 but did not play any snaps, was deactivated for Sunday’s contest against the Seattle Seahawks. In his place, rookie Javon Baker will serve as the fifth wide receiver on the Patriots’ game day roster.
Baker arrived in New England as a fourth-round selection in this year’s draft. While undeniably talented a potential future starter along the perimeter, he struggled with consistency throughout training camp and later was disciplined by the team for an off-field infraction; he live-streamed himself going on a rant after getting a ticket for an apparent traffic violation.
