The Patriots had some struggles on offense, but overcame a nine-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat the Carolina Panthers 17-16 in their third game of the preseason and improve to 2-1.
Offensively, the Patriots got off to a very slow start. Quarterback Tom Brady threw two interceptions and the entire unit was visibly frustrated. However, with a two minute drill to end the half, Brady connected on all cylinders and found tight end Scott Chandler on a beautiful end zone lob to give the Patriots a 7-6 lead. This was Scott Chandler's first preseason game action with the Patriots and the Brady to Chandler connection was one of the biggest stories of the night.
