The New England Patriots are playing an opportunistic game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, and even their long snapper is getting involved in the action. Joe Cardona, a newly-minted team captain for the first time in his career, helped set up a Patriots field goal in the third quarter.
After snapping the ball to punter Bryce Baringer on a fourth down, the veteran quickly made his way down the field. He eventually took down Bengals punt returner Charlie Jones, and in the process of doing so knocked the ball free — the second fumble forced by the Patriots this game.
