The auction finally came to an end on Saturday morning and the ball sold for $43,740, according to ESPN.com.
The ball was sold on behalf of Laura and Matt Nichols, who were sitting in the first row of the end zone during the Patriots’ Jan. 18 AFC Championship win over the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium. Laura Nichols said she was given the ball by wideout Brandon LaFell in the third quarter after a LeGarrette Blount touchdown run.
