FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
The New England Patriots are reportedly finalizing a trade that would send quarterback Mac Jones, their 2021 first-round draft pick, to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the trade, which cannot be processed until the new NFL league year begins Wednesday and Jones passes a physical.
According to Schefter, the Jaguars were discussing sending a sixth-round draft pick to the Patriots in exchange for Jones.
Jones, 25, was drafted 15th overall by the Patriots on the heels of a season that saw them miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
