Patriots tight end Matt LaCosse has an MCL sprain and is expected to miss at least a few weeks, according to the NFL Network’s Mike Giardi.
LaCosse’s injury reportedly occurred on a 4th and 1 play on the Patriots’ opening drive in their 35-14 win over the Giants last Thursday. LaCosse remained in the game despite the injury.
The injury to LaCosse might explain why the Patriots are reportedly bringing back Ben Watson. The veteran tight end is expected to re-join the team after he was released last Monday. Watson hasn’t played this season after serving a four-game suspension.
