FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
A longtime New England Patriots player is now a college graduate, seven years after he was drafted by the organization.
James White, who is entering his eighth season with the Patriots, has earned his degree in life sciences communication at the University of Wisconsin.
The 29-year-old running back did not attend Saturday's in-person graduation ceremony at Camp Randall Stadium, where he starred for the Wisconsin Badgers but did express his excitement about getting his college degree.
"Going into college that was one of my goals besides trying to make it in the NFL, it was to graduate," White said in an interview with his alma mater.
