FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots defensive end Chris Long struck a chord by sharing his perspective on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest, and on Wednesday we also heard from Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett on the topic.
After the anthem in Sunday night’s season-opener, Bennett raised his right fist into the air alongside teammate Devin McCourty. When the game was over, McCourty explained why the two took that course of action, and Bennett expounded upon on that this week.
