The New England Patriots offensive line took another hit this week as center David Andrews will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. In replacing Andrews, the biggest loss may come on the mental side of things as the longtime captain was a key point of communication in the pre-snap process.
“It’s very important,” Jerod Mayo said of the center position. “I always say, you want to see the same picture, and it starts with the center, and it starts with the quarterback. The center and the quarterback, I would say. So, it’s definitely important as far as being on the same page, ID’ing the mic points and all those things.
