FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots had free-agent running back Kendall Hunter in for a workout, as they continue to explore emergency options in the wake of losing Dion Lewis to a torn ACL on Nov. 8.
Hunter, 27, played for the 49ers from 2011-2013, appearing in 43 regular-season games over that span. He tore his ACL on the second day of 2014 training camp, and missed the entire season.
