A former member of the New England Patriots is joining the collegiate ranks as a coach.
Patriots legend James White was named the assistant running backs coach of the Illinois Fighting Illini. This was confirmed in an announcement from the University of Illinois.
There is plenty of knowledge for the three-time Super Bowl champion running back to pass on to the next generation of players. White, a former fourth-round draft pick in 2014, played his entire career with the Patriots. He ended up playing in 95 games and served mostly as the third-down running back option for the team.
