Reports of the New England Patriots surprisingly planning to release veteran linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley have left some of his former teammates shocked.
ESPN's Mike Reiss revealed that the Patriots plan on releasing Bentley Friday, and the news was seemingly confirmed by Bentley himself when he posted a good-bye message to fans on X.
"New England!! Thank You for Everything!! It's Been a Blessing," Bentley wrote on X, followed by a black heart emoji and an eight ball emoji.
Last season, Bentley played in just two games after tearing his left pectoral muscle.
