The New England Patriots welcomed back star defensive tackle Christian Barmore for the start of offseason workouts on Monday.
Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots last summer during training camp, which sidelined him indefinitely before the start of the season. He did manage to return for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams, but he suffered another setback with recurring symptoms after playing in only four games.
There are no guarantees that he'll be ready by the start of next season, but seeing him return for offseason workouts is a good sign. Back in February, Patriots lead personnel executive Eliot Wolf said Barmore was working out in Tampa and "passionate about getting back on the field.
